Channel 6 News

Channel 6 news is fixated on shell casings and mangled cars.

 

But this isn’t the world. 

 

When I look (beyond myself), I see a little boy in yellow rain boots stomping though puddles. 

 

And the grey-haired couple that still holds hands. 

 

There’s candy at the checkout line and texts from old friends.

 

My smile need not be labored because

 

it extends in all directions, taking me home.
